Ramon Sessions to Lakers!

The Lakers have completed a trade with the Cleveland cavaliers the will send Ramon Sessions and Christian Eyenga for Luke Walton and the Lakers’ 2012 first round pick.

Sessions will certainly help the Lakers at the point guard position, which is their most glaring weakness. He has been averaging 10.5 points and 5.2 assists per game this season. He will definitely give the Lakers offense some much needed stability and consistency.

This trade makes Steve Blake expendable for the much rumored three team trade that would send Michael Beasley to the Lakers.

The Lakers have also got out from under the Luke Walton contract that has been hanging around their necks for years. He is due $6.1 million next year.

Eyenga has only played in six games this year and has spent some time in the D-League.

Sessions could still op-out of his contract at the end of the season but I doubt he would leave the Lakers. This isn’t the blockbuster trade a lot of fans have been hoping for, but it makes the Lakers a bigger threat in the Western Conference.
