Come Back To LA, Lamar!!

Lamar Odom is looking for a new job. The Dallas Mavericks have given up on him and most of the sports writers are writing off his career.

I’m not one of those writers. I think there is only one place for him to go to revive his career and that is The Los Angeles Lakers.

Lamar belongs with the Lakers. It’s the only team he feels comfortable with and it was the team that he played the best for. After all, he was instrumental in the Lakers’ back to back championships. He was even Sixth man of the Year last season. And he is still the most versatile player in the league. Name me one other player that can play all five positions. I’ll wait.

Now, whether the Lakers will be able to get him back is another story. While he is no longer with the Mavericks, he is still under contract. Dallas can trade him to any team this offseason. The question is, after Lamar’s lackluster season, will any team want to trade for him?

Dallas can always release him and then he will be on the open market.

The real question is do the Lakers want him back? Kobe Bryant has gone on record saying he would welcome Lamar back. So hopefully that will have some sway with Lakers management.

I truly believe that if Lamar came back to the Lakers we would see the Lamar of old. He would be the x-factor that the Lakers desperately need.

If Lamar comes back to the Lakers, they can easily contend for another championship. And in the end that’s all that matters.

  2. I LOVE LAMAR AND HE IS A GREAT PLAYER.I THINK THE LAKERS MADE A BIG MISTAKE LETTING HIM GO SO DO THE RIGHT THING LAKERS PUT HIM BACK ON THE TEAM SO WE CAN WATCH HIS MAGIC ON THE FLOOR AGAIN!!!!!!!!

  3. LAMAR ODOM IS NOT A GREAT PLAYER AND NEVER WILL BE. HE WAS PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY A FRANCHISE THAT TRULY CARES ABOUT THEIR PLAYERS AND WAS ON A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBUR TEAM. YET HE PLAYED EVERYONE INVOLVED. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. A HOPE HIS CAREER IS OVER. THATS WHAT HE DESERVES FOR WHAT HE DID THIS YEAR.

  4. Look at the organization as a whole. Derrick Fisher and Lamar Odom, both average talent, both know without Kobe’s talent they are second stringers on a below average team.

  5. First of all, let me state that I despise the Lakers. But, even more than that, I despise Lamar Odom. He showed absolutely no ethics or passion for the game this season with Dallas. I honestly believe that it would be in the league’s best interest to prevent Odom from ending up with the Lakers. The league needs to step in and either force Odom to play as contracted with the Mavs or ban him entirely from the league. There is absolutely no way that he should be rewarded for what he did this year.

If Odom was to return to the Lakers, it would establish a dangerous precedent (in my opinion) that would allow teams to make trades with competing teams with a silent agreement that the player(s) traded would intentionally turn in lackluster performances and hopefully be released by their new team, thereby allowing them to return to their original team.

  6. Lamar and Derek’s careers have run their course, I have been a Laker’s fan longer than y’all (very few exceptions), and it was time to say sayonara. Lamar was a pickup off the Clippers and Derek jumped ship for a stint with the Jazz – ergo not Laker symbols like Wilt, Jerry, Magic, and a few others.
